High Note at Camp Bluestone...
The annual meeting of the Presbytery of West Virginia at Camp Bluestone on September 13 offered a lot of what folks had come to expect and look forward to each year:
-
Spectacular views of the New River …..
-
A cool evening…..
-
The original “long and winding road” from Hinton up to camp…..
-
Mosquitoes……. GALORE
-
Good food, fellowship and a productive meeting!
-
Camp clothes at presbytery!
But it was the food for Monday evening dinner that REALLY sparked new interest. As people gathered for dinner, we were surprised to be sent to the fireplace in the dining hall. Yes, you got it right – the fireplace! Our gracious hosts had cooked the entire meal over the fireplace to give us a sample of what went on at summer camp. We enjoyed cornbread, squash, beans and Brunswick Stew, all cooked on the coals in dutch ovens and a Potjie Pot. It was a wonderful treat, and a great camp learning.
