April 26-29, 2006 |
Genetti’s Best Western, Hazleton, PA
|
Sponsored by the Presbyteries of:
Carlisle, Donegal, Lackawanna, Lehigh and Philaldelphia |
and The Synod of the Trinity |
As we expand the presbytery’s commitment to congregational transformation, invitations are being extended to a select group of congregations in the presbytery to participate n a covenanted intentional process of congregational transformation. This will begin with an intensive training event for congregational teams (pastor plus 3 key lay leaders) from the invited congregations. This training will take place April 26-29 at Genetti’s Best Western in Hazleton, PA.
 |
Bruce Tischler |
This training event, similar to a number of past regional and church-
wide events will include congregational teams from the Presbyteries of Carlisle, Donegal, Lackawanna, Lehigh and Philadelphia. The leadership will be provided by a training team, led by Bruce Tischler, regional presbyter for congregational transformation for Hudson River and Palisades Presbyteries. The training will center on the dynamics of congregational transformation including spiritual energy, congregational identity, developing new leadership, re-engaging the community, and building ministry plans. Various aspects of leadership of change, including team-building and coaching skills will be addressed.
Pastors from the churches that accept this invitation will be involved in the training from 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26 through the conclusion of the event on Saturday afternoon, April 29 at 4 p.m. The lay leaders from the churches will begin their involvement on Friday afternoon, April 28 at 2 p.m. and continue through Saturday, 4 p.m.
The cost for each congregational team (pastor plus 3 key lay leaders) is $500, which provides for overnights and meals at Genetti’s and all training resources.
We are hoping that teams can register by April 12, in order to make all the appropriate arrangements with Genetti’s Best Western. For more information, contact Nan Best, Chair of Eastern Church Transformation Network.
