Coordinating
Teams and Review Teams
The
Synod has determined that there are missions that cross
traditional presbytery boundaries which should continue
to be priorities. As part of the new structure of
the Synod, these ministries have been organized around Coordinating
Teams. Short-term Review Teams are appointed and approved by the Synod for specific tasks.
Currently,
four ministries have been identified as warranting Synod-wide
mission emphasis: Student Ministry, New Immigrant Ministry, Church Development
Ministry and Racial/Ethnic
Ministry.
Currently there is one Review Team, the Synod Review Team.
Coordinating
Teams
The Coordinating Team for Student Ministries will direct the Synod's mission and
work
to build and maintain relationships with the church-related
colleges and campus ministry programs. (Click for team list).
The
New Immigrant Ministry Coordinating Team
will work with presbyteries to develop a
multi-faceted strategy that encourages and supports new
immigrant ministries in the Synod. (Click for team list).
The
Church Development Coordinating Team
will work with presbyteries to develop and implement plans
for church development and redevelopment in the Synod. (Click for team list).
The focus of the Coordinating Team for Racial/Ethnic Ministries will be Asian, African-American, Hispanic, Korean, and Native American persons. (Click for team list).

Review Team
The Synod Review Team will review the new Synod structure and the function of the Synod. Approved by the Synod Commissioners, the Review Team will exist for one year from October 2006 to October 2007. They will evaluate where we have been, what has worked well, what has not worked well, and what we might change to work better for the coming years. (Click for team list).
