Frank E. Clark Charitable Trust Fund |
The Frank E. Clark Charitable Trust provides grants for “small churches in small communities”. The Synod of the Trinity has received this one year grant of $75,000 to assist small churches with either a capital improvement project or to support a community outreach program through the small church in conjunction with the church and presbytery. To be eligible for these grants, the church must: |
have an annual budget of less than $250,000 |
have an average attendance at Sunday services of less than 150 people |
be in a town with a population of less than 50,000 |
The detailed application is available by clicking on the link below. Grants to any one congregation may not exceed $10,000. Each presbytery may determine the grant amounts within their presbytery (click on presbytery announcement). The total amount of the grant is comprised of half from the Synod and the other half shared with the requesting Presbytery and requesting congregation. |
The Synod will add $5,000 to the $75,000 grant from The Frank E. Clark Charitable Trust, enabling us to offer at minimum a $5,000 grant to each of the sixteen presbyteries. Presbyteries will match this grant, effectively doubling this grant. Each presbytery will evaluate the needs within their bounds to determine which congregations should receive grants from this combined fund. |
Please contact Synod Treasurer, Chantal Atnip, at 800-242-0534 ext. 232 or via email with questions. The deadline for materials is December 31, 2007 with fund dispersement in January 2008. |
