a mission of the
Synod of the Living Waters, PC(USA) |
Living Waters for the World is an organization which trains and equips mission teams to share the gift of clean, sustainable water with communities in need and is a global mission resource of the Synod of Living Waters PC(USA). LWW water systems and related educational programs address a critical niche of the world water crisis - communities that have available but contaminated water.
Terry Newland, Synod Executive, has asked for our support of their ministry by viewing the Living Waters video as explained below by Director Steve Young. |
While in Mexico filming a segment of the new LWW video (available July 9), we also filmed a public service announcement (PSA). We have developed an awareness strategy using the PSA in various forms, and our first initiative is using the internet site YouTube.
Now, if you aren’t familiar with YouTube, take heart – I wasn't either until recently. In short, YouTube is a popular video sharing website where users can upload, view, and share video clips. Videos can be rated, and the average rating and the number of times a video has been watched are both published. 100 million clips are viewed daily on YouTube, with an additional 65,000 new videos uploaded per 24 hours. The site has almost 20 million visitors each month. The times they are a-changing!
This amount of traffic means that there are all kinds of folks with all kinds of interests using this service, and some of them clearly are mission-minded. We want to reach those folks, and tell them about LWW, with the ultimate goal that some will come to Clean Water U. |
We need your help to draw attention to the Living Waters of the World Public Service Announcement (PSA). We would appreciate it if you would hit the link contained in the message below and view our Public Service Announcement. It is less than two minutes long. (Steps 2-6 below are optional.) You can help by simply taking step
one. Here’s what we ask you to consider doing, step by step:
|
| 1. |
View the video on YouTube by clicking this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2LM-bP4gG-g. |
| 2. |
Please sign up for a free YouTube account. It’s easy, it's quick, and it enables you to do the following steps 3 & 4. Please log in to your account, go once again to the LWW PSA (search on “Living Waters for the World” to find it). |
| 3. |
Rate the video clip – for our purposes, rating the clip is the same as giving other viewers an idea of what you think about Living Waters for the World. |
| 4. |
Post a comment. |
| 5. |
Forward this email to others – your fellow church members, other friends and family – anyone who is familiar with LWW and would be willing to help in this way |
The return on your investment of time is this: if we can get our YouTube rating and number of views high, our clip will start to come to the top of searches such as “mission programs”, “mission organizations”, "clean water" etc., all of which currently return hundreds of clips. Your efforts could have a significant impact on what is our collective goal – more clean water flowing in the world. THANK YOU!
