Square Presbyterian Church, 20 S. Second Street, Harrisburg,
PA will present "Ride the Chariot: Music of African
American Composers" on Saturday, February 7 at 7:30
p.m. in their sanctuary.
This
musical program will highlight the contributions of African
American composers in the genres of classical art songs,
opera, spirituals/religious songs and Broadway/musical theater.
The program will take an exciting musical journey with such
noted composers as William Grant Still, Harry T. Burleigh,
Margaret Bonds, Florence Price, and Nathaniel Dett in an
array of solos, duets, and ensembles. You won't want
to miss this ride on the chariot, so come and "Get
on board!"
There
is no admission charge, and free parking will be in the
Market Square Garage.
