Self-Development of People grant money available

Deadline extended to October 15th

Grants for 2009 are still available from the Synod of the Trinity's Self-Development of People Committee due to a late summer infusion from the National Self-Development of People Committee.  If your group is within the bounds of the Synod and is oppressed by poverty or social systems and you want to take charge of their own lives, apply today!  Check below for more clues to see if you qualify!

Partnerships are initiated by proposals to the Synod's SDOP Committee and are evaluated by its funding criteria.  Annually, the Synod funds approximately $65,000 for SDOP projects working within its boundaries.  Funding comes from the One Great Hour of Sharing offering.

a partner in long-term solutions a crisis fund for emergencies
the development of human dignity provider to social services
the development of self-reliance provider of scholarships
growth in the community provider of loans or grants
the empowerment of people a charity

Chairman Eugene Brown encourages interested groups within the bounds of the Synod to apply NOW!  The deadline has been extended to October 15, 2009.  The criteria and application (in pdf) is available by clicking this link or by calling the Synod Office.
