Within the bounds of the Synod of the Trinity are groups oppressed by poverty or social
systems who want to take charge of their own lives. These organizations have structured themselves to affect their own conditions and to control their destiny. Projects like these are the ones which the Self Development of People
Committee of the Synod of the Trinity searches out and assists with funding which in turn produces direct long-term
benefits for the group and the local community.
The partnerships are initiated by proposals to the Synod's SDOP Committee and are evaluated by its funding criteria. Annually, the Synod funds approximately $ 85,000 for SDOP projects within its boundaries. Funding comes from the One Great Hour of Sharing offering.
