Kuhn Memorial Church receives grant from PHS

The Presbyterian Historical Society is pleased to announce that Kuhn Memorial Presbyterian Church, Barboursville, West Virginia of the Presbytery of West Virigina, was one of only four Presbyterian churches in the United States to have received a 2007 Heritage Microfilming Grant from the Presbyterian Historical Society.  The $250 grants, funded this year by Fourth Presbyterian Church (Chicago, IL), Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church (Bryn Mawr, PA), and Friends of the Presbyterian Historical Society, will cover most or all of the cost of microfilming the congregations’ vital records including session minutes and church registers.

Since its inception in 1914, Kuhn has preserved over 3,800 pages of minutes of the meetings of its congregation, session, deacons, and women’s group.  The church’s rich history is meticulously recorded and preserved in these documents.  Records include the original hand-written minute book from 1914.

Congratulations to Kuhn Memorial Church on receiving the PHS Microfilming Grant!
