| Heirs of Grace Called by Grace Sharing Grace |
From October 5 through November 2, 2007, PC(USA) is sending out 35 missionaries to every corner of the United States for Mission Challenge '07. 150 years of Mission Work comes calling! Presbyteries have been asked to participate by arranging a full week of speaking events, providing housing and transportation during the week, and promoting Mission Challenge '07. The World Mission Program of PC(USA) is excited about this extraordinary month of sharing stories and experiences among our churches. Commissioning of the missionaries will take place at the World Mission Celebration '07: A Celebration of Grace on October 3 and 4 in Louisville, KY.

"The challenge was to have 120 presbyteries support this ambitious project. Currently 143 presbyteries have already committed to participate in this effort to educate the church about how God is at work in the world and how we as a denomination participate in God’s mission," states Linda Valentine,
Executive Director of the General Assembly Council.

| The list of committed presbyteries include 13 of the Synod's 16 including one, Upper Ohio Valley, which has agreed to have 100% of their congregations support this project. Previously scheduled events have caused many presbyteries to decline this first-time challenge. The support has been overwhelming proving that
accoring to missionary-in-residence and co-coordinator, Lora Whearty “the response is clear evidence that Presbyterians CAN unite around world mission and evangelism.” |
The 30 missionaries who are participating are
presenting on behalf of all the 270 long-term PC(USA) missionaries.
