Pentecost Offering seeks high school artist for 2007 project |
UPDATE: Deadline extended - April 24, 2006
The Pentecost Offering is sponsoring a contest for high school artists offering a top prize of $500. The committee would like applicants to demonstrate how they would illustrate the 2007 theme, "That very spirit!" (Romans 8:16). If you are a high school student (or know of one with artistic talents), PLEASE submit samples of your work today! Because the 2005 and 2006 recipients were male, the committee is especially interested in female artists this year but all students are encouraged to enter.
We are inviting high school students to submit a photo or two of a painting, drawing, or mixed media artwork that they feel demonstrates their creative abilities. The Pentecost Offering team will review the entries and select 5 finalists to submit sketches demonstrating how they would illustrate the 2007 theme. Each of these students will receive $100. The team will then select one to create the artwork to illustrate the 2007 theme. The compensation for this finished artwork will be $500. For complete details and deadlines, read this letter from Billie Healy, Project Manager, the Pentecost Offering.
