This year’s mission trip was filled with a lot a new and different things. It was the largest youth mission group to go on a trip (14 students and 4 adults.)  We traveled by air for the first time to visit a new climate and culture. In Fort Defiance, AZ, our group was joined with youth groups from Florida, Colorado and Arizona at a YouthWorks mission site. During the week we painted homes and volunteered at Kids’ Club which is run every summer at Fort Defiance Presbyterian Church by Youthworks. Out of respect for the homeowners you will not see before and after pictures of our work projects. But trust us when we say that made a difference to several homeowners on the reservation.  Mission trip participants were Michael McCormick, Emily Patterson, Sarah Boice, Stewart Pozzuto, Andrew McCormick, Ben Bugaile, Loren Johnson, Carly Rhodes, Karly Young,  Kelly Boice, Meredith Harrison, Rebecca Harrison, Caity Barid, Ross Nietert and trip leaders Jen Newman, Charles Nyswaner, Judi Ickes and Dr. Losher. 

Kids Club was an adventure. We spent the days playing games, doing crafts and sharing stories from the Bible with the neighborhood Navajo children who are in desperate need of something to do and hearing God’s word. Along the way our group learned a lot out themselves and each other.  We hope to continue our relationship with Fort Defiance Presbyterian Church by holding fund-raisers and offering our support through prayer for this special congregation that serves the Navajo community in the area.
