The Synod of the Trinity expresses their sadness on receiving the news of the death on October 16, 2007 of
Miss
Elizabeth G. Atticks A dedicated servant of God, Elizabeth was employed by the Synod of the Trinity for 38 years before retiring on October 22, 1979. When Elizabeth retired from the Synod, she was elected Stated Clerk of Carlisle Presbytery, a position she held for 10 years. As a Deacon, Elder and Trustee, she was a life-long member of Market Square Presbyterian Church teaching Church School for 51 years and singing in the choir for over 60 years. Her vitality, energy, nurturing, and dedication will be sorely missed by all who were guided and touched by her unwavering devotion to her Presbyterian faith. Elizabeth remained a vital force in her church, the Carlisle Presbytery, and the Synod throughout her 93 years and was loved and admired by generations of clergy and lay leaders.
|
| Working as the Office Manager and Administrative Assistant of the Synod, Elizabeth was instrumental in the design and facilitation of the Synod Leadership Training School - eventually known as Synod School - which met at Wilson College every summer for a 4 week session. The 'school' began in the 1950's and was discontinued with the restructuring of the Synod in late 2003. |
