There has been Presbytery of Philadelphia involvement in the statewide "Raise the Minimum Wage Coalition" since the Coalition's inception, reports Rev. Schaunel Steinnagel, Hunger Action Enabler. "We rejoice in the long awaited increase in the minimum wage in our state, signed into law by Governor Rendell this past summer. A raise in the minimum wage is good news for some of the lowest income workers who must struggle to feed themselves and their families on their income. As people of faith, we look towards a day when there will no longer be poor within our lands", says Rev. Steinnagel.
