On the heels of the retirement of Executive Rev. Dr. Bruce Stevens, Rev. Susan Faye Wonderland has stepped into the role of Transitional Executive for the Synod of the Trinity, effective Aug. 1. Susan was the Associate Executive under Bruce for the past five years.

“I look forward to continuing the ministry that Bruce and I shared and am excited about growing new partnerships both among our presbyteries and beyond our borders,” Sue said.

Ordained in 1983 at the Philadelphia Presbytery, Susan served for eight years in the Adirondacks as pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Warrensburg, N.Y., 15 years as co-pastor of the Webb Horton Memorial Presbyterian Church in Middletown, N.Y. (with husband Ken) and 13 years on the staff of Hudson River Presbytery, serving in various areas of congregational resourcing and networking, particularly for education and youth ministry.

In the past, Susan was also engaged in leadership and training ministries relating to Congregational Transformation and Missional Church. She also served as the Interim Executive Presbyter for Lackawanna Presbytery.

Susan’s passions are many, including involvement with youth/young adults, creative worship, environmental/creation centered ministries, holistic Christian Education and dreaming, planning and planting new ministries for living and sharing the Good News.
