NOTE: Three rounds of DREAM Grants have been completed, and applications are no longer being accepted.

Are you a dreamer, risk-taker, pioneer or trailblazer? Then the DREAM Graimage003nt may be just the right thing for you.

A newly offered DREAM Grant (Developmental, Risky, Experimental, Adaptive Mission) is being offered by the Presbyterian Mission Agency. It is seeking entrepreneurs, church planters and inventors. The grant supports people who are not afraid to fail and church cultures that will encourage people to risk failure in order to find new ways to succeed.

This grant is designed to encourage the birth of new ventures through congregations and presbyteries rather than to support the expansion of existing programs within congregations. For the purpose of this grant, new is defined as an initiative that was created no earlier than Jan. 1, 2014. This grant will be offered as long as resources are available. This grant will not support the creation of new worshiping communities and congregations.

Initiatives may ordinarily receive a one-time DREAM Grant of up to $10,000. These grants are intended to support operating/program purposes such as salary and benefits, insurance, rent, educational materials, etc…

The entity shall forward its application to its presbytery for approval. Check with your presbytery for specific dates. The presbytery shall then forward the application to the Synod of the Trinity for review of meeting minimal criteria. Requests can come from congregations and presbyteries and are for new projects! The Synod is responsible for getting the proposals to the Office of Mission Program Grants.
