mission1In August of 2015, nine people representing Old Union Presbyterian Church and their friends from the Pittsburgh area of Mars and Paris traveled to Bayville, N.J., for a week-long mission trip to help the area continue to recover from the devastation caused by flooding from Hurricane Sandy three years earlier. When not working in the area, the team spent time at their host church of Morning Star Presbyterian Church in Bayville.

The trip was made possible through a Synod of the Trinity Peacemaking Grant. Information on Peacemaking Grants can be found here.

A detailed recap of the trip can be found in a blog written by the Rev. Peter de Vries here. Peter is the pastor at Old Union Presbyterian Church in Mars, PA.
