Rev. S. Balajiedlang (“Bala”) Khyllep, the associate director of World Mission Initiative at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, submitted and received a Synod of the Trinity Mission Travel Grant in the fall of 2022 to help cover travel costs associated with the seminary’s trip to the Middle East. He writes:

Thank you so much for the generous gift and support for our students through the Synod’s Mission Travel Grant you provided in November. We’re so grateful for your support which enabled Pittsburgh Theological Seminary to send 26 students to Israel/Palestine, Guatemala, Lebanon and the Philippines as part of the January Term Intercultural Experiential/Learning course. Due to work or family commitments, five students stayed in Pittsburgh and engaged in a robust program of intercultural experiences under the direction of PTS Field Education Director Dr. Barbara Blodgett. Students who traveled this January were able to witness God at work in different communities around the world, which helped them to experience and understand God’s mission in new ways. So thank you again for your collaboration in shaping future mission leaders.
