Posted January 17, 2020 in Around the Synod

z-CertificatesIn 2019, the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) rolled out its Matthew 25 invitation to its congregations and mid councils, asking them to join together to identify themselves as working toward one or more of three goals: building congregational vitality, dismantling structural racism and eradicating systemic poverty.

At the Synod of the Trinity’s Assembly meeting that fall, the body voted unanimously to have the Synod join the denomination in this call. As part of its commitment to this movement, the Synod asked its commissioners at the Assembly to name congregations in their areas that are already doing Matthew 25 work. The Synod in turn sent those congregations certificates of commendation and a letter asking them to join in this Matthew 25 invitation.

Through this request, we are encouraging mission, partnership and recognition of work of Christ among us. Will your congregation walk along side us in this movement? To sign up to become a Matthew 25 congregation and for a welcome kit and other resources, click here.
