Lend A Hand is a disaster response and assistance program that is a mission project of the Presbytery of Carlisle.

Lend a HandLend A Hand plans to take a trip to Jacksonville, FL, on Saturday, Nov. 4 (time to be determined). The entire trip will take a total of 12 ½ hours one way. An overnight stop in North Carolina, about 6 1/2 hours driving time from Camp Hill, PA, is planned. Sunday, LAH will continue to Jacksonville. Housing for the week will be in a dormitory with bunk beds. Breakfast and lunch will be provided – dinner is still being worked out. The return trip home will begin Saturday, Nov. 11, stopping once again in NC. Arrival back in Camp Hill should be mid-afternoon Sunday. The total cost of the trip is $250.

Travel will be via the LAH vans, so we are limiting this trip to 20 people. Volunteer slots will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Because van drivers are needed to help drive part of the way, we will need people to help with the driving. Priority will be given to volunteers who are willing to serve as drivers. If you are interested in driving either our cargo van or one of our 11 passenger vans, let Jim Davis, office coordinator, know. Volunteer drivers must complete an online registration form – lendahand.net. Any questions can be submitted through this page, which is LAH’s website. LAH will be taking additional trips to the area starting in January.

Lend A Hand is located at 3040 Market Street, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
