Synod Communications Coordinator Mike Givler gives his opening views of his first day at the 223rd General Assembly in St. Louis.

“It’s all a great big surprise to me. I always felt like I was the exact wrong guy to be a pastor of any kind.”

“I bring an openness and an ability to cross the different levels of the denomination.”

“We wanted to find a way for families to grow together and grow in faith.”

The ministers considered this experience to be equal to at least one year of seminary study since the Bible came alive at each new site.

And in it all, under these weather stresses, the grace of God is demonstrated.

“I have colleagues with incredible abilities. I would not say that I am better or set apart from others.”

“We have grown, not only in numbers but also in outreach to the community.”

The Synod of the Trinity is grateful for the work and service of Frank Mansell to the region and sends condolences to his family and friends.
